​About the organization 

Literacy Volunteers of Tifton-Tift County is a nonprofit organization based in an office at Southern Regional Technical College at their campus in Tifton, Georgia. We are part of the statewide Certified Literate Community Program and work to promote literacy throughout the county. 
 
We work through volunteer tutors with learners aged 16 and above. Our volunteers understand the importance of literacy and the success of our county. We help adults and out-of-school youth gain basic skills and GED diplomas through tutoring sessions, support conferences, and more. We also teach English to non-native English speakers and provide GED test scholarships when available.
